Brantley defeats Billingsley, 65-9

It didn’t take long for the Brantley Bulldogs to recover from their hiccup loss against Andalusia.

The Bulldogs came out with something to prove this past Friday night as they defeated Billingsley 65-9 – which was subsequently their highest point total on the season.

Brantley started the game off hot with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Tucker Kilcrease to Kenuwyn Dixon.

Later in the first quarter, Bulldogs Walt Johnson made a key defensive play and forced a fumble as Billingsley was deep in Brantley territory.

Kilcrease would continue his dominance in the first quarter with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Kedrick Brown. Brown would outrun several defenders as he scooted down the sideline for the score. This would put the Bulldogs up 21-3.

After the Bulldogs gained a 35-3 lead in the second quarter, Brantley would continue to pile on the yards.

Kilcrease completed a 45-yard bomb to Westley Person for the Brantley a touchdown in the waning minutes of the half – putting the Bulldogs up 42-3.

It was all Brantley the rest of the way as they ultimately defeated Billingsley 65-9.

Kilcrease, who was named player of the game, finished with an 81 percent pass completion, 312 yards, zero interceptions, and six touchdowns.

Brown had two receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns, while Kenuwyn Dixon had five receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

Brantley outgained Billingsley by an outrageous amount, with the Bulldogs tallying 454 yards the visitors 85.

Brantley (11-1) now turns to Keith (6-2) this weekend in hopes of continuing their dominant season.
