Brantley Bank and Trust is expanding.

The 74-year-old bank announced this week that it will open its third branch next year in Pike Road, calling it Brantley Bank at Pike Road.

Brantley Bank President Travis Colquett said construction on the new 6,000-square foot building is set to begin Nov. 1.

“Tentatively, we have a six-month construction schedule,” he said. “So, we plan to open May 1, if not sooner.”

Colquett said they are building a large branch to plan for the future expansion.

Initially, the new branch will employ six to 10 people.

Colquett said the bank decided that Pike Road was a good opportunity because there are no other banks there.

“We have ties to Pike road from customers and directors,” he said. “We already have the Ramer branch in South Montgomery County. So it only seemed natural to continue in that path.”

Colquett said the branch will be located at 9545 Vaughn Road in Pike Road right next to city hall.

“Pike Road is one of the fastest growing towns in the state,” he said.

Ray Kyzer will serve as the Pike Road city president, Colquett said.

Colquett said the new branch will offer the same services that the other branches offer ranging from personal banking and business services to loan services and credit cards.

Plans are to have a mortgage originator at the Pike Road branch as well.

Colquett said bids for construction will be let in October.

Colquett said the bank purchased the property in December 2019, and then had to receive approval from the state and the FDIC.

“We want to let people know in our hometown that while we are the Front Porch City’s bank, our bank is growing,” he said.

Colquett said that once the newest branch is completed, bank officials will be looking at more potential growth.

“Whether that be buying another bank or building another branch, we will see,” he said.

Colquett said bank officials are excited about the new opportunity to serve.

“We are really excited about the Pike Road community,” he said. “And we are excited to be part of their growth and be their hometown bank.”

Pike Road Mayor Gordon Stone and the town council are excited to have Brantley Bank join the business community.

As the Town of Pike Road continues to move forward, we are excited to welcome Brantley Bank to our growing community,” Stone said.  Brantley Bank will be one of the businesses coming to the new development at the intersection of Pike and Vaughn Roads. Construction continues on this premiere Town Center. The center will be anchored by a Publix grocery store and home to many businesses, from restaurants to professional to community support institutions. We look forward to all these businesses have to offer our citizens in the years to come.”
