Brantley Head Football Coach Roland Jones Jr. has to be pleased with his teams’ effort from this past Friday night as the bulldogs blanked Kinston in a 55-0 game.

Brantley exploded offensively right from the kickoff, as Quarterback Tucker Kilcrease threw a 48-yard touchdown to wide receiver Kenuwyn Dixon.

Kilcrease would then follow that up with a 42-yard TD pass to running back Daquan Pittman, putting Brantley up 14-0.

After a three-and-out, Kinston would surrender another long TD pass as Kilcrease would find Kenuwyn Dixon for a 54-yard score.

Dixon would continue his magic later in the first half, as he would scramble for a 39-yard TD run after taking the direct snap. This put Brantley up 28-0 over Kingston.

The Brantley defense, which has been playing stellar all season, would then force a fumble later in the game – giving the offense excellent field position to strike yet again.

The Bulldogs would quickly take advantage of the defense’s play, as Pittman would weave his way around defenders for a 48-yard TD run.

Brantley found themselves with a 41-0 halftime lead and slowed down offensively in the second half.

“We had big lead at the half and just wanted to play solid defense to finish out the game,” Jones said after the game.

Brantley’s defense was not just solid in the second half – it was excellent.

The Bulldogs held Kinston to just 80 total yards for the entire game, with all 80 of those yards coming from the running game.

On the way to their 55-0 win, Brantley QB Tucker Kilcrease would pass for 278 yards, 0 INTs, and 4 TDs while completing 68.8 percent of his passes.

Dixon finished with 3 receptions for 113 yards and 2 TDs, while Pittman finished with 2 receptions for 71 receiving yards and 2 TDs.

On the defensive side of the ball, Brantley’s Carson Jones finished with 6 tackles, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble.

OLB Kedrick Brown finished with 6.5 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.

MLB Walt Johnson finished with 4 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack.

Brantley QB Tucker Kilcrease was named player of the game.

Kinston (1-2) now hopes to recover as they travel to Red Level this Friday. Brantley (2-0) looks to continue their undefeated start as they host McKenzie.
