“In uncertain times, experienced, proven and steady leadership is crucial to maintaining the essential services provided by the Commission to all our citizens. Sound, transparent and responsible government starts at the local level. Service on the Commission has provided me an opportunity to use my training, skills and experience to work with other people to make Butler County better for all our citizens,” Hickman said.

“The future of Butler County is important for all of us. We must continue to work with our current employers and continue to recruit new employers to provide jobs for all our citizens. Everyone deserves an opportunity to make a living wage to provide for their families and to educate their children. Working together, we can make Butler County better for everyone.”

Hickman is proud that the Butler County’s financial status has remained steady even in difficult times.

“The Covid-19 virus has disrupted our economy and our lives, and threatened our county revenues. Your commission must be good stewards of the resources we receive so we can continue to provide the services you deserve. Every financial audit of the commission’s records for the last twenty years has been clean and issue free. Because of that, you can be assured that your hard earned tax dollars have been properly spent, free of waste and mismanagement.”

“Because of Covid-19, it may be difficult to see all the voters. If I miss you, please know that I want your vote. I will be honored if you allow me to continue to serve you as your Commissioner.”

Hickman is active in civic and community affairs, and is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville. Hickman is married to Becky Bozeman of Evergreen, Alabama, and has two children, Walton and McLean, and five grandchildren.
