A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date for Mr. Joseph Ramsey Stowers, 84, of Chancellor, formerly of Greenville, who passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020.

Joseph was born on July 25, 1935, in Prattville, to the late John Raymond and Kathleen Thompson Stowers. He was chief of the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He also retired after 30 years of service in the National Guard. Joseph was an active member in his community and loved being a public servant.

In addition to his parents, one brother, and his wife, Myrtle Stowers, preceded Joseph in death.

Survivors include, three daughters, Victoria Stowers of Chancellor; Jacqueline Watson (Craig) of Chancellor and Emily Smith (Amanda Harrell) of Florida; one grandchild, Manning Smith (Jane), and one great-great grandchild, Maisy Smith.
