The potential threat of COVID-19 spreading through the community has led to a number of changes, including temporary closures, suspended church services, and cancellations and postponements of a number of community events.

Per Gov. Kay Ivey’s orders, which prohibit onsite consumption of food or drink at any restaurant in the state, the following eateries have indicated they will be open for pick-up and/or delivery service only, effective no later than March 23.

• The Big Potato Company, 159 Interstate Dr. – Takeout orders only. Temporary hours are 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Call (334) 371-2447.
• The Alabama Grill, 109 W. Commerce St. – Online and phone orders only. Call (334) 371-4745. The restaurant’s hours will change; patrons are asked to check social media for more information.
• Camellia City Bakery and Deli, 121 W. Commerce St. – Walk-in to-go orders and curbside delivery offered; free delivery to offices or businesses with four or more orders. Call (334) 368-0311.
• Court Square Café, 608 E. Commerce St. – Takeout orders only. Call (334) 382-9232.
• Wintzell’s Oyster House, 128 Interstate Dr. – All locations are temporarily closed due to the coronavirus. Date of reopening is to be announced.

Most fast food restaurants have closed their dining areas, but have remained open to drive-thru customers.

In addition, Sonic Restaurant, located at 712 Willow Ln., announced late Friday afternoon that effectively immediately, it will offer drive-thru and pick-up services only. No eating on premises allowed.
