A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Greenville for Betty Thompson Cardinale, 87, who passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19. The Rev. Rick Taylor and the Rev. Steve Kopp will officiate.

Her parents, Lute M. and Lura H. Thompson; brother, Wilbur Thompson, and sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Vincent Graziano, preceded Betty in death.

Survivors include, her husband of 65 years, Frank Cardinale; sister, Carolyn T. Gibbs of Montgomery; brother, Malcolm (Jean) Thompson of Greenville; sister-in-law, Illene Dexter Thompson of Huntsville, and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was born April 7, 1932. She graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville and from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.

Betty and her husband, Frank, spent their professional careers in the Aerospace and Defense industries at Martin Marietta and Coleman Research, both based in Orlando, Fla. After retirement, Betty and Frank returned to Greenville to enjoy being with their friends and relatives in the area.
