Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in Meridian, Miss. for Mr. Horace A. “Pete” Branum, 83, of Lauderdale, Miss., who passed away on Sunday, July 21, in Jackson, Miss. A private family graveside will be held at the Mississippi Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Richie Davis and Bro. Mike Russell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Branum was born in Greenville, Ala. He was an Army veteran, FFA leader and an active member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Lauderdale. Pete was also a mentor of many young men and women, a spiritual leader, a retired farmer and a City of Meridian employee.

His parents, Roy and Eldon Branum; a brother, Hansel Branum, and his dog, Willie, preceded Mr. Branum in death.

Survivors include his wife, Margie “Jane” Branum; five children, Ronnie, Donnie, Tim, Jonathon and Julie; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Bob; sister, Judy, and his pet, Marley.

The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lauderdale, Miss.
