Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Chapel of Carter Rice & West Funeral Home in Greenville for Mr. Johnny Owens, 73, who died on Friday, May, 24, in Greenville. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

Mr. Johnny was born to the late Johnny B. Owens and Mamie L. Jenkins Owens on Sept. 10, 1945. He confessed Christ at an early age. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness where he served as a devoted member until his death.

Two children, Jamell Owens and Natlie Owens; one sister, Mary L. Howard, and one brother, David Knight, preceded Mr. Johnny in death.

Survivors include his wife, Rebbie Owens; five children, Boris Owens Sr., Todd Owens, Venacia Owens, Jamina Owens and Nicholas Owens; 15 grandchildren, Elentee, Tierra, Boris II, Darrick, Verrick, Ali, Exavier, Devron, Diamond, Micah, Isaac, Princeton, Gabriel, Madison and Wesley; seven great grandchildren, Merrick, Amarie, Amaya, Lavon, Travon, Janiyah and Aquarius; two sisters, Willie Ruth Payne and Henrietta Holloway; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Perry and Elizabeth (Tony) Glover; one brother-in-law, Samuel (Robbie) Perry, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
