A celebration of life service was held Monday, Nov. 26, 2018 at Bethel Church in Fort Deposit at 2:30 for Gerald De Jong, 79, of Fort Deposit who died Sunday, Nov. 18. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directed the funeral.

He is survived by sons, Todd De Jong, Montgomery and Brett (Anna) De Jong, Prattville; brothers, Peter (Evelyn) De Jong, Carmel of Iowa and James (Kay) De Jong also of Iowa; sisters, Verna (Donald) Lindskoog, of Leesburg, Fla. and Janice De Jong of Iowa; sister-in law, Mary Hollingshead, Ft. Deposit; Grandchildren, Delaney De Jong, Alexis De Jong, Bretton De Jong and Anna-Claire De Jong. Gerald is also survived by many loving Nieces and Nephews.
