Humane Society seeks donations: The Butler County Humane Society is seeking donations for its Hidden Treasures booth. Your gently used items in good working order are desperately needed. Home and garden décor, pet-themed items, toys, games and stuffed animals, kitchen appliances, sporting equipment, CD, DVDs, books and accessories (no clothing please). Items should be dropped off at the Shell Depot on Fort Dale Rd in Greenville. For more info, contact Kimberly Matthews at 437-2150.

Food Drive: Help stock the First United Methodist Church Food pantry with a food drive sponsored by Servpro Nov. 1- Nov. 30. Bring all food items to Servpro GTA location at 558 Greenville Bypass. The food pantry is used for immediate food needs of individuals and families who come to the church for aid. Contact the church for more information.

 

Persciption Drug Take Back Event: The Georgiana Police Department is offering safe disposal of your unused or expired medications. The event is sponsored by the Georgiana Police Department and SpectraCare Health Systems. It is set for Nov. 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot located next to the Food Giant, 160 S. Palmer Ave.

 

Georgiana Christmas Parade: Georgiana’s Christmas Tree Lighting will be held Thursday, Nov. 29th at 6 p.m. The parade will be Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2:00 p.m.

 

Self Defense Class: Lurleen B. Wallace will host a, “Women’s Self-Defense” class on Saturday, Dec. 1. The class meets from 1-5p.m. in the Conference Center on the Greenville Campus.

 

A Storybook Christmas Parade: The annual Christmas parade will be held Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. in Confederate Park, the annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6:00 p.m. Parade entries are available online at greenvillealchamber.com. The deadline to register is Nov. 21.

 

Miss Merry Christmas Pageant: Pageant will be held at the Ritz Theatre in Greenville on December 8 beginning at 10 a.m. The pageant is open for ages 0-18 year-olds. For more information contact Michelle Styron at 334-662-7923. The deadline to register is November 23.
