Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, from Clara G. Hudson Memorial Chapel for Morris Berry, 75, who died on Sept. 9. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery. Dr. Robert O. White officiated.

Mr. Berry, affectionately known as Lillon, the son of the late Willie Berry and Emma Lou Haley, was born on Sept. 25, 1942, in Butler County. His beloved grandmother, the late Mrs. Georgia Oliver, raised him. He attended the Greenville Training School.  His craft and profession was brick masonry and he was very good at his trade.

His brother, Willie Berry Jr., and sister, Elizabeth Malone, preceded Mr. Berry in death.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Peterson; daughters, Judy (Vance) Ragland of Kennesaw, Ga., Catherine Ann (Jerry) Willis of Smyrna, Ga., Marica (Kelvin) Williams of Douglasville, Ga., and Rosaline (Aaron) Shinnie of Powder Spring, Ga.; son, Robert Berry of Greenville; a loving and devoted companion of more than 20 years, Kate Baxter; brothers, (his twin) Arthur (Biggon) Berry of Dothan, Joseph (Bobbett) Berry of Rochester, N.Y., and Leroy (Mandy) Roper; sisters, Dora McClaney of Greenville and Jean (Eddie) Crittenden of Hephzibah, Ga.; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
