Linda Gorman Lynch Ward, 81, formerly of Greenville, Alabama, and a resident of Oak Grove Inn of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Saturday August 25, 2018, after a two year battle against several types of cancer.

Visitation and funeral services will be held for Mrs. Ward on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at First United Methodist Church of Montgomery. Visitation will be at 1:00pm in the Fellowship Hall and the service immediately following at 2:00pm in the Sanctuary. The graveside will be for family only at Wadley Cemetery, in Wadley, Alabama, after the service.

Mrs. Ward was originally from Bainbridge, Georgia, where she was Head Majorette, and Sweetheart of Bainbridge High School 1953. She went on to attend and graduate from Huntingdon College where she was honored and voted by the students as the 1958 Huntingdon May Queen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna and Wallace Gorman of Bainbridge, Georgia; her husbands, Captain Curtis Randall Lynch of Wadley, Alabama, and Robert Albert Ward of Greenville, Alabama, and her son Curtis Randall Lynch II of Greenville, Alabama.

She is survived by her children, Karen Lynch Phillips (Trip) of Montgomery, Alabama; Michael Jameson Lynch of Atlanta, Georgia; and Robert A. Ward II of Montgomery, Alabama; her grandchildren; Mabry Stone Phillips, IV of Charleston, South Carolina; Leeanne Lynch Phillips of Montgomery, Alabama, and Michael Reese Lynch with his mother, Kim Lynch Mason both of Montgomery, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center or Huntingdon College.
