Funeral services for Willie Edward Miller Sr., 67, of Greenville, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2018 were held at noon on Wednesday, June 13, at New Bethel Christian Church in Greenville. Elder Tommie Means will officiate.

Willie was born in Honoraville on Nov. 1, 1950 to Lillie Miller Bowens and the late Willie Lee Miller. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a deacon and choir member at New Bethel Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

Willie’s father; his grandmother, Jennie Miller and sister, Katie Powell, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janice Turk Miller; son, Willie Miller Jr. (Cyrenthia) of Fort Deposit; mother, Lillie M. Bowens of Miami, Fla.; sister, JoAnn Hudson of Miami, Fla.; five grandchildren, Latyrah Dixon (Brandon) of Thomasville and Demario Miller (Erica), Darius Miller, Brandon Miller and Jamerqui Daniels, all of Greenville; four great grandchildren, MarQuarius Dixon, TyQuan Cole, Brandon Cole and Kai’son Cole; daughters, Fannie Ward (Tyrone Williams) and Keisha Ward (Joseph Palmer III); goddaughters, Christy Taylor, Amanda G. Savage-Milbry and Seriunte Posey; five brothers-in-law, Michael Blackmon, Tony Blackmon, Chris Blackmon and K.C. Blackmon, all of Niagara Falls, NY and Jerome Turk (Hazel) of Hinesville, Ga.; four sisters-in-law, Jackie Turk, Cynthia Blackmon and Jessica Blackmon, all of Niagara Falls, NY and Judy Gilmore (Henry) of Garland; special nephew, Andrew Hudson of Miami, Fla.; special friends, Pastor Joseph Feagin, Benjamin Laribo, Jay Kemp, Charles Payne and Raymond Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
