James Douglas Kent was born July 22, 1949 to the late Edward and Dovie Kent. He departed this life on May 9, 2018 surrounded by family.

Mr. Kent was baptized at Long Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he continued as a member until his death. He was willing to help anyone; he never met a stranger and always welcomed people with open arms. If you needed him, all you had to do was call.

His father, Edward Kent; his mother, Dovie Kent; three brothers, Lawrence Kent, Donald Stamps and Warren Stamps and two sisters, Lyndea Kent and Marcel Ames preceded Mr. Kent in death.

James leaves to cherish a loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Ruby Kent; one daughter, Angela Moye; two sisters, Gloria Jean Kent and Ginnie Vee Frinks (Orie); three brothers, Edward Kent (Debra), Bobby Ray Kent (Mabel) and Melvin Stamps; one brother-in-law, Raymond Walker; four sisters-in-law, Ruthie Lee Howard, Eva Mae Pressley, Eloise Thomas and Claudia Johnson; two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
