The Tigers struggled for the remainder to surmount the early lead, scoring regularly but remaining just out of reach of tying the game.

Greenville managed to double Opp’s hits, with 18 in total versus 9.

Opp, however, were much more successful in driving in runs and stealing, particularly in the dominant first inning.

The Tigers came within a single run of tying the game at the bottom of the fifth, but the outcome was sealed when Opp put up two more in the top of the sixth and held Greenville to zero for the rest of the game.

Jamil Thompson led Greenville in hits with four singles, followed by Andrew Williams with three. Austin Williams, Chris Bedgood, Blake Anthony, and Tyler Powell all ended the game with two hits each.

The final score for game one was 10-7.

In game two, the Tigers managed to keep the score much more even for the majority of the game.

Each team drove in a run during the 1st inning, and the score changed little for the next six innings of play.

Opp led game two in hits, but did not translate it into a substantial lead until the top of the seventh, when they managed to put up 4 runs and cement the game’s final.

For the Tigers, Blake Anthony led the offense with two singles, while Thompson, Powell, and Curtis Robinson had one hit each.

Greenville’s next home game will be against Charles Henderson on Thursday, March 22.
