The Butler County Career Academy is partnering with SpectraCare Health Systems to bring a community health fair to McKenzie this month. The event is set for Tuesday, February 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the McKenzie School Gymnasium. This health fair will be open to both students and to the general public.

Several vendors will be on hand with information relevant to today’s health and wellness needs.  There will also be interactive activities  appealing to health fair attendees of all ages, says Kristin Johns of SpectraCare.

“This is the second time we’ve partnered with the Butler County School System for a health fair and we are very excited about this opportunity,” says Johns.

By engaging the community in public health-related topics and answering questions about common health concerns, people can often figure out if there is a need to pursue tests and/or doctor visits.  Vendors provide an opportunity for the public to learn about healthy lifestyle choices, as well as what agencies are available in the surrounding areas.

“This health fair is designed to be an outreach and promote good physical and emotional health in our communities. We hope to provide both information and awareness of the programs out there to help individuals as well as communities,” says Johns.

“We hope to have a good turnout and encourage both the students and the citizens of the county to turn out for this event.”
