Harden said that it is unknown why Curry was in Alabama to begin with, though he added the possibility that he could have family in the area.

“He wasn’t talking,” Harden said. “Investigators are flying in [Saturday] from North Carolina to talk to him.” Harden added that Curry could be extradited back to North Carolina as early as Monday.

Curry is a suspect in the shooting of Emanuel Lee Alexander and his wife, Wanda Annette Alexander, both 52 years old.

At around 10 p.m. Tuesday, the Alexanders drove to the 1700 block of Fairfax Road in Greensoboro for a pre-arranged meeting. When they arrived at the location, a man began shooting at them.

Wanda Alexander was shot several times in the face and torso, but was able to ask a nearby resident to call 911.

First responders found Emanuel Alexander suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wanda Alexander was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Authorities say that her condition has improved, but she remains hospitalized.
