A fight at Dunbar Recreation Center in Greenville on Thursday night led to an altercation early Friday morning on the grounds of Greenville High School.

A statement issued by Greenville Police Department Chief Justin Lovvorn read that “investigators combined the two incidents and processed evidence from both scenes” to make a grand total of 12 arrests.

Ten juveniles and two adults–Capricia Jackson and Walter Jackson, both of Greenville–are now in custody for charges stemming from one or both of the events.

The charges faced by the 10 juveniles include disorderly conduct, harassment, and third-degree assault, according to Lovvorn.

The ages of the juveniles range from 15 to 17 years old.

Chief Lovvorn confirmed that a juvenile who participated in the fight at Greenville High School has received medical attention for a facial cut.

The statement from Lovvorn included a reminder of a departmental policy.

“The Greenville Police Department… has zero tolerance for fighting at city or school events,” Lovvorn said. “This puts not only those involved, but everyone around them at risk. We will make every effort to fully investigate and charge those who act in this manner in order to keep our city safe.”
