A shooting early Thursday evening involving a law enforcement officer and a man has left one dead. Peter Daniel Grima, 65, of Andalusia has been identified as the victim. The shooting occurred at a residence on North Carter Road in Luverne.

Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are investigating a shooting at the request of Crenshaw County Sheriff Mickey Powell.
Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Crenshaw County District Attorney’s office.
