Thurman Wilson Rhodes

Thurman Wilson Rhodes, 89, a resident of Montgomery, Ala., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10.  A graveside service for Rhodes was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 11, in Weed Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Rhodes proudly served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Guy Rhodes; two daughters, Jennifer Chloe Nixon and Teresa Wynn Rhodes; granddaughter, Stephanie Renee Nixon; his parents, Roy and Fanny Dismukes Rhodes; two sisters, Carma Lou McInnish, and Agnes Ellis Rhodes; and brother, Vershel Rhodes. Rhodes is survived by his son, Tim Rhodes, grandson, Henry Skylar Nixon, sister, Elva Rhodes Strother, and several nieces and nephews.
