Andrew Godwin was a teenager in the Camellia City when he suffered a sport injury. The young man went to see a local chiropractor and found more than just relief from pain.

He found a future career.

“I went to see Dr. John Stephens and I was fascinated by the methods he used and the results from his treatments,” Godwin explains.

“This sparked my interest in health care.”

This “hometown boy” says he learned from an early age to set high goals and be willing to do the work to reach them.

“Growing up in a large family, I was taught by my parents, W.S. and Rebecca Godwin, the importance of education and work ethics,” Godwin said. “I’ve attended both private and public schools in Butler County and I graduated as valedictorian from Greenville High School.”

After graduation, Godwin attended Troy University receiving a degree in biomedical sciences. From there, he was accepted into Palmer Chiropractic College in Port Orange, Florida.

“After three-and-a-half years at Palmer, I achieved my Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine,” Godwin says. “I also became certified in acupuncture, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, activator protocol, flexion-distraction, and physical therapy.”

Godwin knew the perfect place to start his practice. And so he came home to work with Dr. Timothy Rose at Balanced Health Clinic located at 202 Church Street, in the same offices where he had visited Dr. Stephens as a teen.

“I came back to Greenville for the opportunity to work with and learn from Dr. John Stephens and Dr. Timothy Rose. Both being established and experienced doctors with years of chiropractic knowledge was too great of an opportunity to let pass by,” Godwin explains.

And he is happy to share the benefits he sees in chiropractic treatment with local citizens.

“Through regular chiropractic visits, the average person has been known to show improvement with many conditions,” Godwin says.  “These conditions include, but are not limited to allergies, indigestion, menstrual irregularities, headaches/migraines, sciatica and TMJD.”

When he isn’t helping give patients relief from pain and discomfort, Greenville’s newest chiropractor stays active and fit running, hunting, surfing and scuba diving. His favorite pastime?

“Most of all, I enjoy meeting new and interesting people.”
