The Butler County Humane Society invites you to come check out some beautiful kittens ready for a fur-ever home during their upcoming donation/adoption drive and raffle at Tractor Supply in Greenville.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 19 inside the store.

A list will be available of items needed such as puppy and kitten chow, collars and leads, disposable cleaning cloths, bleach, copying paper and more for use by the humane society and the local shelter. Monetary donations of any amount will also be gratefully accepted.

“Tractor Supply has been very good to us, holding several of these events a year and we really appreciate their support,” says event chairperson Kimberly Matthews. “We will be raffling off a great gift basket filled with pet items donated to us by Tractor Supply that day, too.”

And a special addition to Saturday’s event will be three precious kittens which have been fostered by a BCHS volunteer. They will be available for adoption for a $50 fee, which includes their spay/neuter surgery and all basic shots and de-worming.

“These babies are all in good health and ‘fixed’ and ready for a loving home,” said acting BCHS president Kandys Killough. “We hope anyone interested in adopting a homeless kitten will stop by and see these sweet kitties.”

You can also visit the BCHS’s booth at Tractor Supply to learn more about the availability of low-cost spay/neuter services for your pets and opportunities to help the BCHS through the fostering shelter animals and transporting animals who have obtained rescue commitments.

“We can always use more good foster pet parents for the times when the city’s animal shelter is overcrowded or we have orphaned kittens or puppies who need special care. We can provide portable kennels, food and medicines—we just need folks who can give their time and TLC,” said Killough.  “Those who can help drive rescue animals on legs to the cities north and south of us on their journeys to their forever homes are also really needed. So if you have reliable transportation with space to carry animals and can drive to Enterprise or Jemison or Montgomery or elsewhere, we can use your help.”
