Carol Lavonne Gafford, 80, resident of Terrell, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 from Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Randy Sexton officiating. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana, Ala., directed arrangements. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Parris Scruggs; and husbands, Tracy Scruggs and James Gafford. Survivors include daughters, Lynn Bond, Kaufman, Texas, and Patty Scruggs, Austin, Texas; sisters, Martha Skipper and Ann Foster, both of Greenville, Ala., Kitty Stuart, Atmore, Ala., and Diane Morgan, Montgomery, Ala.; brothers, Ralph Newton, Ga., Ray Newton, Andalusia, Ala., and Ronnie Newton, Greenville, Ala.; grandchildren, Teisha Bond, Galveston, Texas, Amanda Snyder, Ft Hood, Ken., and Savannah Tyree, Terrell, Texas.
