Get ready for a summer filled with fresh air and good old-fashioned fun, brought to you courtesy of First Steps at Healthy Kids.

The Kids Adventure Camp is scheduled at the Greenville YMCA beginning June 5 and running through August 4 and is open to children entering kindergarten in the fall through age 12.

“Summer camp is a much-needed break from the academic year where creativity, adventure, thrills, smiles and plain old good times are the priority,” says Healthy Kids director Lisa Nimmer.

“The First Steps Adventure Camp is a place to make memories while providing opportunities to build friendships, overcome challenges, stay healthy and build character on the way to a brighter, better life—and have a good time doing it all.”

Sessions are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The registration fee is $50 for one child and $75 for the family, Nimmer says.

“You can register for a week, three weeks or nine weeks. Space is limited and we will give first priority to those who sign up for the entire nine weeks of camp.”

The cost is $72 for a full week, $200 for three weeks and $580 for the full nine weeks of camp.

“Register by Friday, May 12 and we will waive the registration fee,” says Nimmer. “Children are meant to learn through play–and summer camp provides a new way of learning that hands-on and exciting to kids!”
