Rosetta Hayes Harris

Rosetta Hayes Harris 74, native Greenville, Ala., and a resident of Jackson, Ala., answered the Master’s call on April 30, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born July 28, 1942 to James and Jessie Mae Coles Hayes. Before relocating to Jackson, she was a member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Crenshaw County. She was a member of Word Of Truth Fellowship Church in Jackson, Ala., under leadership of pastors Marcus and Belinda Kelly, where she was a licensed minster, and served with Food Outreach Ministry and Nursing Home Ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Isaac Lee Hayes; and two stepsiblings, Gwendolyn Gibbs and Charles Lowery. 

Rosetta leaves to forever cherish her precious memories her husband, Henry Joseph Harris, Jackson, Ala.; son, Henry Jerome (Brenda) Harris, Grenada, Miss.; two daughters, Everlyn Laffitte, Charlotte, N.C., and Adrian (Adrian J.) Howard, Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five brothers, James Hayes Jr, Rev. W. F. (Deborah) Hayes and Joseph Hayes, all of Lansing, Mich., Pastor Paul D. (Ratana) Hayes, Ft. Wayne, Iowa, and Donnie L. (Jacqueline) Hayes, Luverne, Ala.; two sisters, Emma J. Harris, Lansing, Mich., and Irma K. (Donnie) Cantlow, Luverne, Ala.; eight stepsiblings, Edith (Leevon) Ridgeway, Lexington, Ken., Lonnie Baugh and Bettye Lowery, Atlanta, Mildred (Alvin) Vann and Rev. Johnny Lowery, Luverne, Ala., Elmer (Debra) Lowery, Pulaski, Miss., Carl (Sharon) Lowery, Louisville, Ken., and Roy (Ann) Lowery, Forest, Miss.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on May 5, 2017 beginning at 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, located at 203 East Ross St. Jackson, Ala. 36545. Service will be held on May 6, with a viewing from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 748 North Bethlehem Road in Greenville. Rev. Paul D. Hayes will be the officiating minister. interment will follow in Bedgood Cemetery.
