Lowndes Academy Rebels cut down FDA

FDA Eagles third baseman Tripp Richardson tags out Rebel Brian Rayburn on a attempted steal, though the Rebels still found a way to mount four runs at the top of the sixth inning and edge Fort Dale 6-2.

The Fort Dale Eagles hosted the Lowndes Academy Rebels in a non-conference baseball game on Friday night and came up short by a score of 6-2.

Fort Dale scored first in the bottom of the second inning when Baron Brack scored off a double by Davis Gaston.

The Eagles held the lead until the top of the fourth inning when Lowndes Academy Rebel scored one run to tie the game. 

At the top of the sixth inning, Lowndes Academy’s bats heated up and was assisted by Fort Dale fielding errors, resulting in four runs crossing home plate for Lowndes.

With the score being 5-1 in Lowndes’ favor, going into the seventh inning, Lowndes tacked on another run to go ahead 6-1. 

Fort Dale was able to add one more run on a stolen base by William Crenshaw, but that was all they could muster and ended the game losing 6-2.

Jackson Blackmon was the starting pitcher and went five innings – facing 24 batters.

Michael LeCoq took over pitching duties at the top of the sixth inning- facing eleven batters.

Tripp Richardson, Zach Winters, Baron Brack and William Crenshaw all finished the game with one single each.   Davis Gaston had one single and one double.
