True Booker Smith, 96, a resident of Montgomery, died peacefully on March 27, 2017, after a brief illness.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana; graveside services will follow at Providence Cemetery.  Remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends. Flowers are welcome.

True was born in Georgiana to Monroe and Laura Brooks Booker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Smith, and her daughter, Janie S. Mock.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra S. Wilson and Deborah S. Matthews (Bernie), Montgomery. She is also survived by grandchildren, Allison Baxley (David) of Prattville, Eric Wilson (Alyssa) of Atlanta,  Joseph Welch of Prattville and Kay Keckler of Montgomery; great-grandchildren Brooks Baxley of Prattville, Dustin Brunson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and True Welch of Prattville.; great-great grandchildren Mason Brunson of Salt Lake City, Utah; and special sons-in-law Mike Mock and Bernie Matthews of Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be  Eric Wilson, David Baxley, Charles Stokes, Phillip Stokes, Trace Welling and Mike Butts.
