After an early back and forth battle in the second game, the Cougars surpassed the Raiders and secured the 20-3 win. SMCA began strong. The Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. After holding the Cougars to two runs, the Raider defense began to crumble. Crenshaw’s offense retaliated in the third inning by adding nine runs, including a double by senior Katlyn Gamble. Henderson and Gamble contributed nine of the thirteen hits against the Raiders. Pitcher, Reagan Lawrence threw five innings that resulted in four strikeouts and zero walks. Impressively, Lawrence led the offense with four of the 15 bases stolen.

“I feel as if we finally came together as a team,” Gamble said. “In both games, we remained focused.

Finding our inspiration in the pre-game speech, we took the field with the mindset we could become victorious if we worked as a team. You could tell that we were all having fun while claiming our back to back wins.”
