Annie Lucy Pouncey Cook

Annie Lucy Pouncey Cook, 93, a resident of Bradleyton, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5.  Funeral services for Mrs. Cook were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Parker Bowen officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, William Warren Cook, an infant son; parents, Andrew Jackson and Catherine Lousia Stough Pouncey; five sisters, Monteria Gregory, Lucille Jackson, Pauline Leatherwood, Mattie Brewer and Mary Clark; and six brothers, Claude Pouncey, Leo Pouncey, Pete Pouncey, Baxter Pouncey, Charlie Pouncey and an infant brother.  She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila (Donnie) Atkinson and Cathy (Robert) McGough, and two grandchildren, April Atkinson and Randy McGough.  The family would like to thank the staff of both Luverne Health and Rehabilitation and Crenshaw Community Hospital for their loving care and support.  Active pallbearers were Clarence “CP” Pouncey III, Craig Pouncey, George Browder, Willie Lee Burgans, Randy McGough and Chris Clark.

Joyce Lane Schofield

Joyce Lane Schofield, 84, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3.  A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, in Siloam Cemetery with Rev. Harry Driggers officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Schofield was preceded in death by her husband, Lamon Schofield, II. She is survived by her two children, Viola Corley and Lamon B. Schofield, III; two grandsons, Christopher (Paige) Corley and Calvin (Misty) Corley; three great-grandchildren, Brittany (Cory) Jones, Justin Corley and Chase Corley; and two great great-grandchildren, Emilee Corley and Aiden Jester.  Active pallbearers were Justin Corley, Calvin Corley, Chase Corley, Cory Jones, Justin Bell and James Turner.

Edgar Morris White

Edgar Morris White, 76, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5.  Funeral services for Mr. White were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Parker Bowen officiating and Ronnie Paulk delivering the eulogy. Interment followed in Rocky Mount Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine H. White; daughter Stephanie D’Ann White; mother, Myrtle Paulk White; and father and stepmother, Henry and Lena White.  Mr. White is survived by his seven children, Robert (Lisa) White, Tammy (Bruce) Knott, Ronnie (Sharon) White, Randy (Karon) White, Larry (Amanda) White, Gered (Jana) White and Chris (Shasta) White; 17 grandchildren; and his sister, Dorothy Pike. Active pallbearers were Robert White, Ronnie White, Larry White, Gered White, Chris White and Lee White. Randy White and Corbin Knott served as honorary pallbearers.

Reverend Clarence Neal Jackson

Reverend Clarence Neal Jackson, 89, a resident of Troy died on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating. Burial was held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at County Line Cemetery in Lumpkin, Georgia, with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Reverend Jackson is survived by his wife, Gilberitta Hamm Jackson; daughters, Jeanine Jackson Hammonds (Charles) and Dianna Bolton; daughter-in-law, Sherolyn Jackson; grandchildren, Marv Jackson (Janet), Greg Jackson (Julie), Shannon Barron (Donny), Stacy Hammonds Morgan (Jason) and Eric Hammonds (Laura), Courtney Kirkland, Jessica Sullivan, Macie Collins and Sarah Collins; 12 great-grandchildren, Aaron, Brooklyn, Christen Norris, Sydney Taylor, Kaine Morgan, Hayley Jackson, Carlie Ann Hammonds, Hannah Rose Jackson, Henlie Hammonds, Asher Kirkland, Jaycee Morgan and Patty Brian Sullivan. Reverend Jackson was preceded in death by his first wife, Leneus Jackson; children, Tony Jackson, Linda Faye Finley, Glenn Jackson and Reverend Marvin Jackson. The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care and attention and Dr. Pearlstein and Staff.
