Ms. Lynn Tanner Poole and the late Mr. William Lloyd Poole are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Ashley, to Ethan Nikolai Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brown of Jackson Jap, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gertrude Dean Tanner and the late Mr. Bobby R. Tanner of Greenville, Ala., and the late Mr. Joe Neil Poole Jr. and the late Mrs. Betty Ann Watson Poole of Forest Home, Ala.

A 2010 graduate of Fort Dale Academy, Lauren Ashley attended Troy University, where she was a member of several biomedical clubs and societies. Graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical science, she completed her degree as summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Giddens of Scottsboro, Ala., and Mr. Frank Brown and the late Mrs. Louise Brown of Opelika, Ala.

A 2010 graduate of Opelika High School, Ethan attended Troy University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science.

He was a member of Farmhouse Fraternity. He is currently employed as head trainer of Crossfit Illium Gym and also a firefighter for the Troy Fire Department.

The wedding will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, Ala., with minister Michael Alsup officiating.
