Celebrate Camellia Day this weekend

Did you know this weekend we celebrate Camellia Day here in Alabama?

On January 30, 2014, Governor Robert Bentley signed a proclamation designating Jan. 7 of each year as Camellia Day in the State of Alabama.

The date was chosen to coincide with the start of the peak blooming season in the state for camellias. In the days and weeks to come, we encourage local citizens to take time to stop and admire the abundance of colors and varieties in the camellias seen blooming across town and country.
