Edith McCrory Pruitt, 85, died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. Edith was a native of Butler County, Ala.  She was born to Henry and Aline McCrory on Aug. 3, 1931. During her adult life, she made Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., her home.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Pruitt; and her son, James Oakley Pruitt.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Gladys McCrory Stokley.  She is survived by her sister, Barbara Kelley of Greenville, and her two brothers, Oakley McCrory (Betty) and Mack McCrory (Judy), both of Huntsville.  She is also survived by her nieces, Lynne Stokley and her daughter, Laura, and Yvonne McCrory Bryant (Brooks) and her nephews, Bill Kelley (Winks) and their children Will, Anne Price and Alex and Mark McCrory (Lori), as well as their children, Ansley and Hill, and many extended family members.  Visitation for family and friends was Tuesday, January 3 at noon at Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home in Greenville, with a graveside service following at 1 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery.
