Mrs. Raborn was born Feb. 1, 1925 in Greenville, Ala., daughter of the late Ely Abram Griggers and Sovilla Missouri Guthrie Griggers. She retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company in Columbus, Ga., after 30 years of service as a packer. She would always come home smelling just as sweet as the cookies and crackers she packed. She was a fun-loving person who wasn’t afraid to work. She enjoyed her dream of country living after retirement; she found a large tract of undeveloped land to settle where she raised a few livestock and planted her garden. She also loved flower gardening and she was an avid junk collector before it was popular.
Other than her parents, was preceded in death by two daughters, Lana June Wright and Linda Janice Norvell; five brothers, Willie D. Griggers, Fred Griggers, Herman Elvin Griggers, Howard Ollie Griggers and Charlie Griggers; and three sisters, Rebi Mae Heartsill, Mitty Jewel Smith and Liddy Griggers.
Survivors include a daughter, Julia L. Weaver and husband Ronnie of Phenix City, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Tommy Wells, Juanita Martin, Shawn Lawson, Brandy Welch, Hulet Norvell, Audrey Norvell, Clara Norvell and Charles Norvell; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
