Lena Alene Griggers Raborn, 91, of Phenix City, Ala., passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Columbus, Ga., with Rev. Dean Knipe officiating.  The interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Raborn was born Feb. 1, 1925 in Greenville, Ala., daughter of the late Ely Abram Griggers and Sovilla Missouri Guthrie Griggers.  She retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company in Columbus, Ga., after 30 years of service as a packer. She would always come home smelling just as sweet as the cookies and crackers she packed. She was a fun-loving person who wasn’t afraid to work. She enjoyed her dream of country living after retirement; she found a large tract of undeveloped land to settle where she raised a few livestock and planted her garden. She also loved flower gardening and she was an avid junk collector before it was popular.
