“Offensively, our game plan was good and we moved the ball. We took the opening drive in the first part of the game and scored. I think overall, our boys played really good. Little mistakes throughout the night add up,” explained HHS Head Coach Gregg Baker

“I thought the kids played hard, but we let too many opportunities fall through the ground. We played really hard but made too many errors.”

Friday night, senior kick returner Drick Bell returned a kickoff resulting in an 85-yard touchdown.

“I hate that we lost Friday night. We have more chance to make it into the playoffs this Friday night against Notasulga High School,” junior defensive lineman Sammy Vassass said.   “We played good but made minor mistakes. We will work this week during practice to fix the errors.”

¨We’re headed in the right direction, we’ve just got along way to go,” said HHS Assistant Coach Will Pouncey.

Later on in the game, sophomore quarterback Daniel Phillips made it to the end zone for another touchdown.

“This week we have one more chance to get into the playoffs. We play Notasulga, and we are confident going into this week´s game. We are going to work hard to win Friday night,” sophomore wide receiver Art Hebert said.

This Friday, Highland Home will travel to Notasulga High School for their last chance into the playoffs. The Flying Squadron are 3-6 overall, and 2-3 in the region.
