Thursday night, the Brantley High School Bulldogs went head to head with the Red Level Tigers, and brought home a victory of 49-6.

“I thought we came out and played hard early. The first drive set the tone, we got ahead and we were able to get a lot of guys in the game, which was exciting,” said BHS Head Coach Ashley Kilcrease.

“I thought we threw the ball well and we caught it well. Tommy Spivey and Adrian Person, Jr. had big nights. I thought our offensive line blocked well; I thought we played okay on defense. We probably gave up too many yards on the ground, but we kept them out of the end zone with the first group.”

Senior wide receiver Tommy Spivey brought in the only touchdown for the third quarter with a 15-yard pass from Free; Owens brought home another extra point with a kick, which made the score 42-0.

Wrapping up the fourth quarter, a 19-yard touchdown run was scored by sophomore running back Tyler Booker, with an extra point earned with a kick by Owens. An 18-yard run and two-point conversion was attempted, but failed, which ended the game at 49-6 in favor of the Bulldogs.

This week, the Bulldogs will travel to Florala to face the Wildcats.

“Florala is down, and they’re not as good as they have been. We’re just really going to work on focusing on us and trying to get better,” Kilcrease said.

“Hopefully, that will take care of itself.”
