Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Retha Marsh Steele were held on Tuesday, Sept. 27,2016 at noon from New Bethel Christian Church. Rev. Tommie L. Means officiated. Burial followed in the churchyard
cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville, Ala., directed.
Mrs. Cynthia, 54, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday Sept. 18, 2016.

Cynthia was born Feb. 24, 1962 in Warren, Ohio. She was the daughter of Otis and Katie Mae Mickles Marsh Sr. Cynthia graduated from Warren Western Reserve High School. While in Warren, she was a member of New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church prior to moving to Greenville, Ala., where she attended New Bethel Christian Church Disciples of Christ. There she served on the usher board and the choir. She was proceeded in death by her parents; sister, Ruby Kate Ruffin; and her husband, Willie Steele.
Survivors include three sisters, Brigette (Tyrone) Williams of Youngstown, and Katrina and Joy Marsh of Warren; and a brother, Otis Marsh Jr. (Stephanie) of Jonesboro, Ga. (these are the last three she raised after the passing of her mother, Katie Marsh, in 1988). Cynthia leaves a host of nieces and nephews: Nakia Ruffin Miller, TaNeisha Ruffin Traylor, Serena Scruggs (“Her Boo”), Taisha Williams, Antonio, Cameron, Imani; Laila, She’mar, Malaysia, Andre Sa’Niah, McKayla and Labron; great-niece and nephew Rueben and Nekiah; and two special friends, Teko Dunklin and Ruby, who she affectionately called “Ma.”
