Crenshaw County Commissioner Michelle Stephens presented a certificate of excellence to Crenshaw County Emergency Management Agency Director Elliott Jones for the exceptional effort that he has put forth with assisting the county with emergency preparedness.

“Elliott Jones has been a true blessing to Crenshaw County. He is one of the most determined individuals that I have ever known,” Stephens said.

“Tasks requested of him are met with diligence, and no matter how difficult, he refuses to quit until he has accomplished his objective. Individuals like Elliott are who help make our communities solid.”

A project of creating an active-shooter in-house training program for county employees was requested of him by the County Commission. This educational course was going to have to begin from scratch, and every employee on the county payroll would undergo training through this new program once it was complete. Within 30 days of the request, Jones had completed this task in full.

“One of my most critical responsibilities to the citizens of this county, including my co-workers within the Crenshaw County family, is to make sure that we remain in a prepared state at all times,” Jones said.

“Sometimes it means burning the candle at both ends to make it happen promptly, but without hard work, progress is difficult to achieve.”
