Do you have children or grandchildren who would like to try out for a role in the Missoula Children Theater’s upcoming production of “Rapunzel” but they missed out on pre-registering for next Monday’s auditions?

Fear not, says Mollie Waters, president of the Greenville Community Theater, the organization sponsoring MCT’s Camellia City production.

“We want everyone to know that children who have not pre-registered to audition can still show up at the auditions next Monday to try out for a role,” Waters explained.

“Those who have pre-registered will be seen first, followed by those who have not, until all roles have been cast.”

According to Waters, there are 60 roles in total, including four assistant director positions, with roles still available in all age groups from kindergarten through high school.

“Rapunzel” auditions are set for Monday, September 19 at 4 p.m. at the Ritz downtown.

The young hopefuls, who should be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the auditions, won’t have to wait long to learn if they have won a spot in the show.

“The cast will be announced immediately after the Monday auditions, and there will be a rehearsal that same night from 6:30-8:30,” Waters said.

The rehearsals will continue nightly from 4-6 p.m. and again from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, with a dress rehearsal set for Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Performances on Saturday, September 24 are set for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“Tickets for ‘Rapunzel’ will be available the week of the show at The Medicine Shoppe, The Pineapple and McFerrin’s Jewelry,” said Waters. “You can also purchase them at the Ritz the day of the show.” Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for children.

“As we all know, we have abundant talent in all our schools and this is another chance for our young stars to shine. We are looking forward to a great turnout on Monday as we kick off the rehearsals,” Waters said.
