Ivy “Pee Wee” Ray Boswell

Ivy “Pee Wee” Ray Boswell, 65, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 12.  Funeral services will be held for Mr. Boswell at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Defee officiating.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Home Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Pee Wee was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Frances Boswell, and his father, Bo Boswell.  He is survived by his four children, Melissa Boswell (Jeff) Adams, Michael (Ashley) Boswell, Dewayne (Tracey) Owens and Curtis Owens; five grandchildren, Kimberly Boswell, Austin Boswell, John Michael Boswell, Layla Grace Adams and Trey Harrison; one great-grandchild, Logan Benbow; his mother, Doris Reeves Boswell; and two brothers, Clarence (Eurtis) Boswell and Billy Ray (Elaine) Boswell.  Active pallbearers will be Bo Mount, Robert McGough, Keith Stephens, Barry Reeves, Timmy Boswell and Bubba Edwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Funeral Fund for Pee Wee Boswell at First Citizens Bank.  They will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m.

Robert Rex Hamm

Robert Rex Hamm, 84, a resident of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Saturday, September 10.  A graveside service was held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, in Bethlehem Cemetery in Lapine, Alabama with Rev. Nathan Skipper officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Mr. Hamm was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Ray and Sarah Merless Hamm, and daughter, Donna Rushton Hendrick.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Pearl Hall Hamm; three daughters, Jacquelyn H. (Chris) Couch, Mary Lynn Anderson and Debbie (Jimmy) Payne; six grandchildren, Mora Couch, Angela Brewer, Denise Ingoldsby, Jay Payne, Robbie Cowles and Michael Cowles; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Nell Watkins and Carol (Buddy) Teague; and brother-in-law, Wayne (Delores) Hall.  Mr. Hamm graduated from Montgomery County High School where he received the Bausch-Lomb Award and was the top student in mathematics. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army. After his service, he attended Alabama Christian College and went to work at First National Bank in Montgomery.  He would continue in the banking industry in both Demopolis and Baldwin County.  Mr. Hamm later retired from Thompson Tractor Company. He was an avid golfer, and he spent his retirement working as a ranger at the Seminole Country Club golf course in Tallahassee, Florida. He served as a deacon of Tallahassee Christian Church for many years, and he was loved by all who knew him.

Wayne Robert Allen

Wayne Robert Allen, 57, a resident of Lapine, died Wednesday, September 7. Funeral services for Mr. Allen were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, at Pintlala United Methodist Church with Rev. Ruby Beck officiating.  Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his son, Troy Allen, and his parents, Carl and Eleanor Allen.  He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shirley Stacey Allen; two children, Brittany (Phillip) Osborne and Bobby Miley; four grandchildren, Bobby Miley, Jr., Chey Miley, Jessa Allen and John Aaron Osborne; a sister, Denise (Reed) Ajamian; and his nephew, Brandon Ajamian. Active pallbearers were Danny Hunter, Mack Givens, Shannon Lindsey, Bobby Miley, Johnny Beck and Chris Clayghorn.
