Fun rides, festive food, engaging exhibits and exciting entertainment are all on tap for the 62nd annual Butler County Fair, which opens at 1 p.m. p.m. Sept. 28 at the county fairgrounds.

The annual event is sponsored by the Greenville Kiwanis Club.  The rides and games will be provided by Archway Amusements.

On Wednesday night, the New Beginnings Ministries will provide praise & worship and musical entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday night, a preliminary show / open mic session for Butler County’s Got Talent will be held on the stage at 6:30 p.m., and on Friday Kaoss will host the band’s reunion entertaining fairgoers beginning at 7 p.m.

The winners of the Miss Butler County Pageant will be presented on stage at 6 p.m. Saturday, followed by Butler County’s Got Talent competition at 7 p.m.

Gates open at 1 p.m. Wednesday for all Butler County school children.  The children can enter the fair free of admission on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.; armbands will be available for a discounted price of $12 to Butler County school children during this time.    Admission and regular armband prices will be charged from 5 p.m. until closing on Wednesday.

The fair gates open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday.  Armbands will be available for $15 to ride all evening Wednesday through Friday. On Saturday, armbands will be available for $12 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.  Armands will not be valid after 5 p.m.

Admission is free for children under48-inches tall and $3 for children under five-feet tall.  Admission for adults or children 5-foot or taller is $7.

The Greenville Kiwanis Club uses the proceeds from the fair each year to support a number of worthy causes within the community, including scholarships to Key Club members, providing Christmas presents for the county’s underprivileged children, and assisting other youth-oriented programs.
