Funeral services for Mr. Willie J. Wilson Jr. will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. from New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Gary D. Reed Sr. will serve as officiating minister. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville, Ala., will be directing.

Willie J. Wilson Jr. was born in Butler County on Aug. 5, 1957 to the late Mr. Willie J. Wilson Sr. and the late Mrs. Stella F. Wilson. Wilson attended Greenville Training School and later joined the U.S. Army, where his term was served completely.

Later in life, Willie joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gary D. Reed Sr.

He departed this earthly life on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Ernestine Wilson of Greenville Ala.; four stepchildren, Michael (Veronica) McNeil, Greenville, Ala., Cynthia (Lee) Lymon, St. Roberts, Mo., Lee (Joyce) Haynes, Georgiana, Ala., and Bridget (Terrance) Wilson, Montgomery,

Ala.; one brother, Chris (Judy) Lewis; four sisters, Zula McDonald and Zella Wilson, both of Greenville, Ala., Joann (Willie) Scott, Ft. Deposit, Ala., and Minnie Rudolph, Pensacola, Fla.; other sisters, Sara McDonald, Janice (Willie) Peterson and Gayle Lewis, all of Greenville, Ala., and Rosie Bell, Rochester, N.Y.; one special aunt, Pearlie (Henry) Albritton; one uncle, Earlie Aceman; three special nephews, Earnest Wilson, Robert Wilson and Romon Wilson; one special niece, Yolanda Wilson; devoted cousin, Jessie Mae Coleman; a special friend, George Coleman, of Greenville, Ala.; 11 step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
