SPECIAL TO THE JOURNAL:

LBW Community College officials say all new students who have not yet taken the required placement assessment before the beginning of fall semester have only a few opportunities left to do so.

“These required assessments help determine placement in classes where students can be most successful,” said LBWCC Dean of Student Affairs Jason Jessie. “The assessment must be completed before a student can register for classes. It is free for those taking it for the first time.”

Only one session is left on the regular schedule for each location, he added, and students can plan to go to the campus on the date and time that best works for them.

“Since they can take the assessment at any of the College’s locations, we urge all new LBWCC students to make the time for it and get started on their college career.”

Students should bring a photo ID and arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled assessment, he added.

Dates and times for the assessment are Aug. 10 in Greenville at 1 p.m.; Aug. 11 in Opp at 1 p.m.; and Aug. 12 in Andalusia and Luverne at 9 a.m.

Fall semester classes begin Aug. 22. For more information, call 334-222-6591.
