Walter Neil Griffin

Funeral services for Mr. Walter Neil Griffin will be held on Saturday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Rev. Dr. James Hall and Rev. Michael Pouncey will be officiating.

Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services directing.

Walter Neil Griffin was born Nov. 3, 1948, in Butler County, Alabama to the late Mr. Alex and Willie Mae Griffin-Gibson.

He departed his life on July 25 at the age of 67.

Walter Neil joined St. Francis Missionary Baptist and later moved his membership to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a choir member until his health failed him.

Walter Neil attended the Butler County School System.  He was also an attendee of the Butler Adult Training Center for many yeas where he made friends for life.  Walter Neil had a gift and passion for numbers and dates, where he remembered all of his loved one’s birthdays and all important events that happened in their lives.

He leaves to cherish his memories three loving brothers, William (Betty)

Griffin of Greenville, Ala., Lonnie Earl (Sara) Griffin of Monticello, Fla., and

Johnny C. Griffin, Rock Island; and eight nephews, seven nieces and a host of cousins and friends.
