Greenville police made multiple arrests in connection with a fight at Dunbar Park.

According to Capt. Justin Lovvorn, commander of the Criminal Investigations Division, on July 11 officers responded to a call in reference to a fight in progress at the park, but did not observe anyone fighting.

“Officers located several subjects on the property,” Lovvorn said. “A report was made of the incident and an investigation was conducted to determine what took place.”

Lovvorn said the investigation confirmed that a fight did take place.

Five adults and two juveniles were arrested on July 14 and charged with disorderly conduct for their roles in the fight.

The adults charged in this case were China Powell, Kebriana Powell, Darzell Marsh, Daynasia Marsh and Keyaira Taylor. The juveniles’ names are not being released due to their ages.

The fight is the second to take place at Dunbar in less than three months.

Four teenagers and a 34-year-old woman were arrested in April for a fight that took place at the park and was videoed and circulated on social media.

“As we have stated, we will investigate and arrest anyone who engages in fighting behavior in a public place,” Lovvorn said. “Those who continue to engage in this type of activity will receive a more serious punishment. Any adult, who allows a juvenile to participate in a fight, regardless of if the adult took part in the actual fight, will be charged as well. The police department needs the help of parents and the community in general to prevent and stop this type of activity.”
