Funeral services for Ms. Katherine Sims were held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Hudson Funeral Services in Greenville, Ala. Rev. Robert Lewis officiated. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Alabama directed.

Katherine Sims was born on May 27, 1951 to the late Eddie Manual Sims and the late Essie Mae Sims.

Katherine Sims passed onto the glory of God on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at her home in Greenville, Ala.

Katherine completed High School and Technical Training in Greenville, Ala., and Montgomery, Ala., and enlisted in the United States Navy, rendering 12 years of honorable service and medically retiring with the military rank of yeoman first class.

Katherine was preceded in death by her two brothers, Joseph and Lonnie Sims, and sister, Norma Jean Sims.

Katherine leave behind three sisters; Mamie Powell, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Alma Lewis and Eva (Billy) Jones, both of Greenville, Ala.; brother, J.D. (Doris) Sims, Warner Robins, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Sims, Greenville, Ala., and Linda Sims, Rutledge, Ala.; aunt, Lena Pearl Lewis, Louisville, Ky.; uncle, Robert Morris, Birmingham, Ala.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other friends.
