A McKenzie teenager was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Hunter Kyle Gaston, 19,was killed when the 2001 Ford F-150 he was driving left the roadway and overturned. The crash took place on McKenzie Grade Road about six miles east of McKenize.

Gaston was not wearing a seat belt, according to authorities. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the truck, whose name has not been released, was injured in the crash. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
