Ida Duncan Boutwell

Mrs. Ida Duncan Boutwell, 93, of Greenville, Ala., died April 5after an extended illness. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on April 10at First United Methodist Church in Greenville, Ala., with Rev. Dr. David Saliba and Rev. Joe Lizenby officiating and Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Boutwell was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville, serving in many aspects of the church. She was a Sunday School teacher and involved with youth fellowship, Bible school and many adult studies. She was a lover of music and a member of the church choir. She loved to entertain family and friends and was quite the storyteller!!! She was a friend to all with her generous and caring heart. Her pride and joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Boutwell worked with her husband in their corporations, the Greenville Cablevision of Greenville, Ala., Georgiana Cablevision and their Walton County Systems in Walton County, Fla.

Mrs. Boutwell was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Oscar Clifford Duncan and Sally May Barrett Duncan; and the love of her life, Ralph Boutwell; five brothers, Earnest Duncan, Robert Duncan, Aubrey Duncan, Riley Duncan and John Duncan; two sisters, Margaret Duncan and Sue Duncan Hogg. She was survived by her daughters, Sandra B.(Stan) Owens of Luverne, Ala., Sharon B. Catrino (Ken) of Destin, Fla., and Patricia B. (Jim) Farmer of Dothan, Ala.; grandchildren, Rhett Owens (Margaret) of Freeport, Fla., Geoffrey Owens(Sandy) of Goshen, Ala., Sherrie Lynn Jordan (Pat) of Robertsdale, Ala., John Boutwell Catrino (Georgianna Cook) of St. Francisville, La., Michael Foster Catrino (Claire McCormick) of Dallas, Texas, Kate Farmer of Dothan, Ala., Alex Farmer (Andrea) of Dothan, Ala., and Brigman Farmer of Dothan, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Brennon Owens (Sherri), Neal Owens, Christopher Mack, Heather Owens, Payton Owens, Lauren Jordan, Emory Jordan, Maxine Ruth Catrino, Isabel Farmer and Samuel Farmer; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Owens, Liam Owens, Danley Mack and Bradley Mack; her faithful loving sister, Hazel Duncan Peavy of Greenville, Ala.; her dear sister-in-law, Doris Sanders Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Boutwell’s grandsons, Rhett Owens, Geoffrey Owens, John Catrino, Michael Catrino, Alex Farmer and Brigman Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Lionel Ed Rainey and Tuffy Rainey.

Flowers may be accepted or in lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 112 Adams St., Greenville, AL 36037.
