Marjorie Carnathan Johnson, a resident of Georgiana, Ala., passed away on March 15, 2016. She was born to Clarence Littleton and Minnie Hudson Carnathan in Chapman, Ala., on Feb. 13, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walter F Johnson Sr.; and grandson, Brian Walter Johnson. Survivors include daughter, Nancy (Roland) Coburn, Wetumpka, Ala.; son, Walter F. (Emily) Johnson Jr., Columbus, Ga.; granddaughters, Stacey (Dave) Stone, Huntsville, Ala., and Ginger Coburn, Birmingham, Ala.; great-grandson, Cameron Stone, Huntsville, Ala. A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 from the Johnson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Allen Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana, Ala., will be directing arrangements. Mrs. Johnson and her husband were longtime owners of Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana, Ala., where the raised their two children. Upon retirement, they enjoyed their home on the Bon Secour River in Baldwin County, Al, before returning to Georgiana in 1990. A special thanks is extended to caregivers Dorothy Hugler and Louise Williams, the doctors and nurses of Georgiana Medical Center, and Southern Care Hospice for the care given to her in her final days. Pallbearers will be Dave Stone, Keith Fuller, Jeb Hargrove, Jared Lowe, Daniel Lowe and Derek Lisse. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Georgiana, Ala., or to one’s favorite charity.
