Edward Barnes Ledlow

Edward “Bud” Barnes Ledlow, 89, a resident of Greenville, Ala., passed away naturally at Crowne Health Care of Greenville on Feb. 25. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Odessa Matson Ledlow; two daughters, Rhonda Bentley (Frank) and Donna Ledlow Miller (Larry); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George Allen Ledlow, and mother, Hattie Layton Ledlow, and his 18 brothers and sisters.

Brother Ledlow was an ordained minister in the Free Will Baptist Church denomination for 60 years. During his years of ministry, Brother Ledlow served as pastor to multiple Free Will Baptist churches in Alabama and worked with the FWB Home Mission Board in Nashville, Tenn. After retiring from full-time ministry he served as associate pastor at First Free Will Baptist Church of Sylacauga, Ala., for nearly 20 years. The Ledlows relocated to Greenville in 2012 after the state of Brother Ledlow’s health began declining.

The funeral service for Brother Ledlow was held at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Sylacauga Feb. 29 with Rev. Jeff Harris and Dr. Wayne McDaniel officiating. He was laid to rest at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega, Ala., with Radney Smith Funeral Home of Sylacauga directing.
